And here we go again. Yet another person has been chosen to be given that great honor of being awarded the „man of the month“ title (end of sarcasm).
This time I want to show you one of my closest friends – Dan.
You have seen him in a couple of vlogs and posts. I have known Dan for 14 years. Another good friend of mine, Vita, used to do Karate with Dan when they were kids. One day Vita brought Dan to the playground where Vita and I liked to play basketball and table tennis. At first I thought that the new guy could be a danger to Vita’s and my friendship. Quickly though I realized that Dan was the perfect third person in our duo that throughout time has become a trio. Ever since we have been inseparable. Many of first experiences like fashion addictions (thankfully this phase is over), girls and clubs we underwent together. The funnier to me now to see how everybody has developped.
Now I know that the three of us are completely different personalities and if we met today I am not sure that we would end up becoming even just good buddies.
Dan is the man of the month not because it is this moment that I realized that he is good enough to be one. With assurance I could have said that he is a real man years ago. He proved it many times in different situations. It is that today is his birthday, he is turning 28 years old. Although Dan is not someone who needs the attention, why not honoring his day with a little nice post.
I am glad that we can celebrate his birthday today together. This day one year ago he was in another city. Before that in yet another city pursuing his career in the world of taxes and being mature enough to also wanting to close the deal with a life partner. Unfortunately she wasn’t the one to be for ever.
In September 2015 Dan moved back from Hamburg to Berlin. It was his family for whom he did it.
They needed him and there was no second wasted. He came upon the call.
Thoughts about accommodation and job came at second place. First he took care of the most important thing in life: family.
Maybe you have read my post about the goals for 2016. When I composed that list, Dan was right next to me in the room. He as well made a list of things he wanted to do in 2016. Luckily his list came very close to my list and so we could plan accordingly. Our last trip was in Norway, I hope we can find soon enough spare time to plan our next moment of freedom.
Happy birthday, Dan!
(btw I booked the table for tonight at 8 pm, don’t be late, I’m picking you up at 07.30 pm)
